Founder & Creator of Indigenous Vitality

The Founder & Organizer of Indigenous Vitality (a non-profit organization that hosts sports camps for Manitoba youth living in remote First Nations communities & reserves), Matt Nobess combined his love of sports with a dedicated goal of providing a safe & positive environment for youth to learn skills and training similar to real-time hockey drills and game scrimmages.

Developed from previously hosting sports camps in remote Indigenous communities in 2017, Matt also hosts Indigenous Vitality’s annual Manitoba Indigenous Youth Ball Hockey Tournament, where youth (between ages 7 and 17) face off against other youth teams from Berens River, Birdtail Sioux, Black River, Bloodvein, Chemawawin, Fisher River, Nelson House, Norway House, Pinaymootan, Roseau River, and the Saskatchewan area.

Indigenous Vitality Sports Camps provide an array of benefits for youth on-and-off the court, with improved self-esteem, confidence, physical & mental well-being, and learning the value of hard work and determination across their school, family, and community connections.
